UEFA Euro 2024: Public Viewing in Munich

European Football Championship: Where to Find Public Viewing in Munich
Since the opening match on June 14, Euro fever has gripped Munich’s football fans. Here’s where you can watch football in Munich.

Public Viewing? Seriously? The Germans and their pseudo-English. Consider the word „Handy,“ which in English is only an adjective meaning „handy“ or „practical,“ but in German it refers to mobile phones. Similarly, the term „Public Viewing“ is popular here but in the USA, it refers to a public wake for a deceased person. „Public Screening“ would be more accurate. But oh well, we’ll stick with the established term „Public Viewing“ here.

Seebühne at Olympiapark during UEFA EURO 2024

Munich is hosting six matches for EURO 2024 and won’t miss out on the excitement. A fan zone will be set up in Olympiapark, featuring three screens to watch all matches. Many local establishments will also create a stadium atmosphere, drawing in crowds for „viewing.“ Our regularly updated guide (last updated: June 17) reveals where to join the communal excitement and cheering.
